About

My name is Krista! I was born and raised in the East Orlando area and recently graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in animal behavior. You can ask anyone close to me and they’ll tell you that I have had a passion for animals my entire life. When I was younger, I was constantly begging my parents to let me own any type of pet possible. I now have my own fur babies that are my life, Levi (dog) and Kayenne (cat). I have worked or interned for several different prestigious animal companies that has only strengthened my passion for all animals and greatly increased my knowledge on animal behavior and properly caring for them. Some include: Animal Hospital, dog daycare/boarding facility, pet store, wildlife refuge, Discovery Cove, Central Florida Zoo, etc.

Through my work experience, I have gained the knowledge and safety training in: administering medication, baths, releasing anal glands, nail clipping, checking for fleas/ticks, vaccine and heartworm knowledge, monitoring behavior, looking for signs of illness or possible aggression, behavior changes, etc. My focus in school was animal behavior, primatology and animal psychology. I am pet CPR and First Aid Certified. Animals are and always have been a huge part of my life. They mean so much to me and I understand how much your babies mean to you! That is why with Pawsitive Pet Company, we will provide you with honest and dependable service for your pets while you are away from home.
