Pet Owners & Animal Lovers: Why Should You Listen to What I Have to Say?
Attention Pet Owners: Why Should You Listen to What I Have to Say?
Hello there! I would love to welcome you and invite you to keep reading to find out more about me and what my future blogs are going to be about!
My name is Krista and I am a recent college graduate from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. My focus in school was animal behavior and research (animal brains, not so much human brains). Ever since I can remember, I have been obsessed with all critters and grew a passion for caring for/ being a voice for animals.
Animal Experience
I am fortunate enough to have worked with a variety of species so far in my life and each one has taught me a different lesson. I’ve worked for a/an:
-animal hospital
-pet boarding facility
-pet sitting company
-pet store
And I have interned at:
-SeaWorld
-Discovery Cove
-Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge
-Central Florida Zoo
-Pet Rescue by Judy
I have also had some odd end jobs working with horses, raising butterflies and caring for reptiles. As you can probably tell, I love working with animals and have done a lot of dirty (literally) jobs to get to where I am now and to have gained the knowledge I have. Check out some photos!
Now I own a pet services business, so my life is filled with all different breeds of cats and dogs and therefore, I am continuously learning about these entertaining animals every day as they each have their own unique personality. I luckily have one of those jobs that I really am genuinely happy to get out of bed every morning to go to.
What am I going to be blogging about?
In case you were wondering, this is my first blog and I am super excited to start throwing some knowledge at you all! Although I have versatile experience, my main goal is to realistically help you. You guys probably don’t own any dolphins, foxes, or lemurs (I sure hope not) so the bulk of my blogs are going to be about your cuddly, furry, companion animals.
The more I run into people who own pets, the more I realize that there are a lot of rumors or passed down theories on what is best for your pet, but they may not necessarily all be true. We all want our pets to have the best lifestyle possible, so I am going to try and help all the pet owners out there get accurate, research-based facts on everyday things that will help your pets be healthy, happy and safe!
I might also throw in some exotic animal or conservation facts as well just because that’s fun and something I think everyone should at least be familiar with. So, my blogs are designed for you- people or families that own a cat, dog or other small animals that want to learn more about the mind of their pets and what drives them to display the behaviors they do. These blogs may also help owners who are struggling with a specific health or behavior issue and don’t know what to do about it.
I am going to try my best to post regularly but I am also busy running around feeding cats and walking dogs 7 days a week, so I will try and post at least once every 2 weeks, once a week if were lucky!
I am also very excited to hear everyone’s opinions! I encourage you to comment on my posts! Let everyone know your specific experience with your pet, what worked/ what didn’t, questions you may have that I didn’t answer, anything you disagree with, anything! I think it is important to put information out there and talk about these things because at the end of the day, it is helping us all become better pet owners to our babies and meeting their needs since they are completely dependent on us.
Overall, I can’t wait to start sharing some fun facts and hear what you all think about it! Make sure to share my posts or website with any friends or family that you think will benefit from this type of information. Stay tuned y’all!
